So i recieved my interview notice today, and was extremely happy to find out that i had passed. However, i had that (supposedly) NO ONE failed the interview this year. A buddy phoned the admissons person and asked how many people had 'failed', and what the final number was. She told him that roughly 150 ppl (in and out of prov) were interviewed, and 130 passed. So only 20 people failed....is that normal? Would the bulk of that be in or out of prov? Is there anyway to find out?

WOW, I can't believe notices are out so early this year. I find it highly unlikely that so few people failed. I don't believe they will even tell you how many passed or failed. You may want to second guess that "buddy". If it is the truth, then I feel your pain, the next couple of months will be rough, but try not to worry about it, there is nothing you can do to change your application now, other than concentrating on your exams for this year and bringing up the old average (assuming you are still attending school).
Good Luck. I will try to find out details, but I can't promise anything. BTW- I remember rumors going around last year around this time in the premed circles that nobody failed the interview, which turned out to be a total farse. |

The admisssions people really seem to be extra efficient this year in sending out the pass/fail notices ... last year they arrived around arpril 30th! While I agree with Kosmo that probably more than just a few people failed the interview (based on last year's stats), I don't think the admissions committee would hesitate in divulging the number of people that failed the interview. If you have passed the interview, then you have to realize that your chances of admission are high (although not a shoe-in) and the only thing remaining under your control are the final exams if this is one of your two-best years. Study hard, you're almost there!
Good Luck! |

I received my interview notification letter today. All it really said was that my interview score was sufficiently high enough to remain competitive. Good news I guess.
They letter also went on to say that the admissions committee will review my LOR, MCAT, and GPA. Would anyone be able to tell me what they look at in terms of GPA? For example do they look at all 4 years or your best 2, or your last 2? thanks |

they take the best two years for your GPA....any two, not in any order.
As far as my previous statement, i checked it out for myself, and yes, my friend was correct. Of the 150 ppl interviewed, 130 passed. They did not tell me how many in prov. applicants applied, but around 95 (cant remember if it was 93 or 98, but it was one of those two) ppl passed their interview. I was wondering, to those of you already accepted last year, what was your GPA (roughly), if you dont mind me asking. Im sitting at around a 87%...is that competitive for this school? |

I had approx. a 90% best two years. 87% is definately competitive as that is usually the average for the entering class. Interview score will continue to play a large role in your acceptance as the differences in GPA don't range that much among the applicants.

Hey Kosmo,
Would I be able to obtain my exact interview score if I called the office? or is that kept secret? |

Sorry about that inital reply.
I was just wondering, when one talks about the averages for getting into Sask, what was the high end for the OOP and also the low end. Thanks for looking into this. |

Hey Party Cal
I noted that you have placed many a post. Just wondering are you from Calgary and if so, we might have met at the interview for Calgary.... |
