Oh and Dentists are docs, they are Docs of Dental Surgery, or Dental Medicine.
lol way to miss the point entirely, captain literal. dentists =/= docs in the public eye. we talking about prestige of docs vs. dentists, not docs vs. dentists vs. millionaire moguls

I guess some people are scared of dentists and that's it.

Having said that, you are right in a way because do not charge patients directly so people don't know how much they are being charged, therefore they love the doctors more because they think it's free.
But then again I think the amount of respect people have for money is far greater than anything.
If a dentist shows up with a 911 Porsche and a doctor shows up with a Honda Civic, people will give more prestige to the dentist.
Same with the reverse.
Yes, there are tons of people who may say MDs might be saving lives and all, but try asking any patient who has a tooth ache and see how they will love the dentist.
Btw, when you say docs, you must specify.
There are five professions that are allowed to use the title 'doctor' including dentists and physicians. phD people also use the title doctor.

Thanks

Exactly. Money= Prestige.
If you are after prestige and money go for business. Make money. Once you do that, you can even buy a medical and dental school and name (:cough: Schulich, Michael G. DeGroote, etc.) it after yourself. Now, that my friend, is prestige haha...

And take what I just said with a grain of salt because not all East Asian and South Asian families are like this!
Hahaha... LMAO kinda true haha

Hey guys is it that hard to find a job in big cities? I keep hearing when you grad you will need to get interviewed at many places and it will be hard for you to find a job, even outside big cities, because people wont come to see you if they do not know you, and you are only paid if people come see you... I heard about a girl that only made 25k yet and she graduated 2 years ago, not even enough to pay her debts...
Can anybody share his experience with me? Is it normal that after few years of study in dentistry, one wouldnt find a job? ?

Really? 25k is really really low. Did she open a place herself or did she work with someone else? Also, was she part time, or full time?

How is she socially? I certainly hope I make waaaay more than 25k. People at Tim Hortons make that much, and they don't have any debt.
