Default bad summer school marks

Just got my orgo mark back and i did pretty poorly on the exam and ended up with a 3.7/A-/10 (on mac scale).

Should I retake the course doing my school year as an elective (I have 3 next year) or should i just not worry about it since ive heard most med schools dont count summer school marks?

TBH, I don't think a A- is all that bad. and I assume this was a half credit right? So in the big picture of things, it's not going to affect your cGPA all that much, if at all, if all your other courses are stellar. Don't stress about it. Learn from your mistakes, and move on (and enjoy your summer ).

I'm in your class. A 3.7 isn't too big of a hit to your GPA because you GPA wasn't high to begin with (no offense). Organic chemistry is not easy, and a 10 is a good grade for this course.

What I would suggest is get the AAMC tests and do them a week before your actual MCAT. If you can't get a consistent balanced 30 (at least) then don't write. The MCAT is something you want to do ONCE. I wouldn't want to see you make a "bad mcat score" thread.

Work harder in 2nd year and good luck on your MCAT.

LOL Heres what the thread would say:

"Just got my MCAT score back and i did pretty poorly on the exam and ended up with a 36 (13 10 13).

Should I retake the MCAT because of the VR?"

If you personally believe you worked hard don't retake it. I remember overhearing my orgo prof talking to a bunch of students about the nature of orgo and he said the same thing, if you put forth your best effort, it'll be really hard to raise your mark, at least for the exams he wrote seeing how they were all mc so your prone to get caught by an attractor. Anyways I hope your not fishing for compliments cause regardless a 3.7 is a good mark for orgo, so don't retake it might even be harder during the school year.

this is why i abhor premeds (no offence). btw, you spelled offence wrong and the comma after not easy is unnecessary. you'll notice this when you compare it to your last sentence as they have the same sentence structure. try harder next post. good luck!
