Default OT info

A lot of us (including myself) are considering OT/PT as a future career but I realized that there is minimal info on this forum about those careers so I think it would be a good idea to have a thread where we could just ''dump'' whatever useful info we have.

What is an Occupational Therapist (from mcgil ot/pt website )?

An Occupational Therapist is a health professional who:

-assists clients to develop, maintain or regain function and quality of life due to developmental disorders or after an accident, illness, surgery or chronic illness
-uses activities important to daily living and client education to promote skill development and assist clients in the domains of work, self-care, leisure, and school participation
-works in acute care, rehabilitation, community settings, schools, industry and private practice
-works with a wide variety of clients from newborn infants to the elderly
-assesses and treats individuals with a variety of conditions including musculo-skeletal, neurological, medical, psychosocial, etc. conditions.

table of admission infos for canadian universities : Canadian Occupational Therapy University Programs

from CAOT website : careers in OT

feel free to add more stuff!
