Default CaRMS vs NRMP result

This year I have applied both in CaRMS and ERAS. CaRMS 1st Itteration results will come on 6th march and ERAS result will come on 12th march. I have the following questions -

- If I will match with CaRMS, Is it true that ERAS will automatically withdraw
me from match participation of NRMP ?

- One of my friend told me that if you will go to your NRMP account at the end of February that you are withdrawn from NRMP, that means you are matched with CaRMS, Is it true and struck ??

Pls. request to clarify me from forum

Just wondering...

What if you fail to match in R-1? Are you still withdrawn from the NRMP match?
Or do you just go through NRMP as if nothing happened?

Aside from the USMLE score, how can I increase the odds of me being matched in the states? provided that I don't have connections in the states and all of my electives and clerkship have been in Canada. I am in a three-years program so I don't get the summer off which means no shadowing or research over the sumer

you asked this question in another thread and you are going to get the same answer.

If you want to match in the states, the best thing you can do is away electives at the sites you want to eventually match to. And do well on the USMLE.

Is there a possibility for "pre-match" for American residency programs? If so, what kind of schools/programs offer pre-match to Canadian internationals - lower tier vs. high tier (Penn? Harvard)?.
A US pre-match is the ONLY way to end up in the US if both countries' programs rank you highly. HOWEVER, starting NRMP 2013 (this coming cycle) pre-matching will be barred. If a program announces x spots in August'12, it is expected to fill them all through NRMP in March'13, or leave spots unmatched for the scramble/SOAP. They can't fill spots throughout the year the way the used to. Don't ask for a link; this came straight from a chief resident I know...
