Researching in the states

I'm thinking of doing research this summer. And also I want to check out how academia is like down in the states. Does anyone know a good program/school that offers this type of opportunity? (something that resembles NSERC, for example)

CMFS exchange has research opportunities to Asia and Europe. Perhaps they have some placements in the states as well? Ask your local school rep about it.
