IM fellowship going to be match system like CaRMS?

I heard IM fellowship application is changing into CaRMS-like matching system.

How would that affect applicants? Would it make the match rate higher than it currently is?

How about the control applicants have with accepting many offers and then picking the best one or the geographically most desirable one?

Does anyone know when this match is going to be in place?
