Default Is the average U of T GPA based on weighted or OMSAS GPA?

I read that the published GPA of students entering UT meds hovers around 3.85. My question is would this be the UT weighted GPA (where they drop your lowest courses, if you have a full course load?) or the OMSAS GPA (where they don't drop any courses).

It's interesting that McMaster has a similar GPA for its entering class (at least recently when they've become more focused on GPA). But I do know McMaster doesn't applying any weighting formula to your GPA unlike most medical schools.

UT seems to have a reputation of being a "GPA school", but if one were to drop their three/four lowest marks, it could be very possible to see one's GPA increase from a 3.5 ish to a 3.8.

I think maybe McMaster should usurp UTs reputation of being the "GPA school".

I'm fairly sure that it's the weighted GPA average (keeping in mind that not everyone is eligible for the weighting -3rd years and parttimers- but they are probably a minority).

3rd year right here. Unfortunately, not eligible for weighting formula.

I thought if you were in your third year you could drop your 3 worst courses and if you were in your 4th year you could drop your 4 worst courses??

No. If you have at least 3 years at the time of application with 5 full courses in each, you are allowed to drop one full course from each year.

That's not true. You get to drop your 3 lowest courses overall and it does not have to be 1 from each year.

Wow, there's some confusion being introduced. Kuantum was just correcting Kiel in that UofT will ONLY drop 3 full-year courses if you have ALREADY completed 3 years and are in your fourth year. No weighting formula applied to those who are in their 3rd years and have completed ONLY 2 years. TBJ1 is right in that it doesn't have to be full-year courses, it can be 6 half-year courses.

I read that you can't drop any worst courses if you are applying to get in after 3rd year. However, I think they don't count summer courses for GPA caculation(which OMSAS does automatically.)
Clarify me if I'm wrong
