Default University of Toronto family residency

Hello folks,

Anybody have a good idea as to the weighting of the UofT family residency interview i.e. is it 50%; 25%..etc..?

Or the general breakdown. I know there are a lot of qualitative factors that go into it, but was just curious if a systemic approach exists.

thanks

I was asked semi-random things based on my personal sketch. Had a 2-on-1 interview, a meeting with the program director, a tour of The Sinai and a meeting with current residents. Totally chill -- it's Family, fercryinoutloud!

questions i've been asked thus far (not from u of t though)

why family medicine
why our program
"tell us a story that illustrates what type of person you are"
give an example of difficult team dynamics you've been in, and how you dealt with them
patient encounter that lead you to family medicine
patient encounter where your empathy was demonstrated
where do you see yourself in 10 years
tell us about where you grew up
tell us about an experience you had with a "problem" patient and how you dealt with it

etc etc etc. exactly what you'd expect. entirely laid back (though UBC was the least friendly of all, but that was probably moreso because of the interviewers personalities)

Anyone who has gone through clerkship should be able to come with appropriate examples, given some thought. It should go without saying that the situation should be based in reality, as you may be questioned, and the impression of disingenuity would be damaging to one's application. Just follow up with what steps you took to resolve the conflict and what you learned.
