GPA Calculation (driving me crazy!!!)
Okay I'm applying OOP (from manitoba) and I was curious as to how my GPA would look on a 4.0 system. Basically at the UofM we have 4.5 scale however what I wanted to know was if universities use your letter grade and just convert them to a 4.0 scale or they just take your gpa and convert to 4.0 (something like 4.0/4.5 x 4.0 = 3.5?).
So I did some searching here and I found that they just take your grades and covert them over to a 4.0scale (ex. on a U Manitoba scale B would convert to a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale right?)
So I called U of A twice now and they've told me they take my gpa and covert it leaving me at 3.5/4.0 scale. I'm just so confused and frustrated am I just getting someone who doesn't know what they're talking about on the phone? Or is this conversion only for Medicine? Please help.
