Am I out of luck this year? Can't seem to find answers!

Hi there!

I have applied to NOSM for the first time this year. This is the only school in which I was eligible to apply. My dilemma is that one of my references did not make the deadline despite my greatest efforts to motivate my referee. OMSAS said it will be up to the school as to whether they will still consider my app. I have emailed, called, and left messages at NOSM to find out but I have not been able to contact anyone nor have I received any responses. Has anyone had any experience with this situation? I just feel it's a shame if my app is not considered because of a late reference that was completely out of my control, especially when the references aren't considered until after interviews. Anyone have any advice or comments, please share!

all i can say is good luck, i don't have any experience with that, but u can imagine how busy they are going through all the 'complete' apps, and may be they can not respond right now.

How late was your letter? Do they have it now? Usually the schools have their own internal deadline for the reference letters and supporting documents and it can be as late as mid-November early December. You should be okay if the letter is in at this point.

I don't know if it has been received as of yet. OMSAS shows that it is still outstanding but it's ok-I just heard back from NOSM and they said they have the required documents to still consider my app! Very thankful for that!
