I would also try to go one step further and connect the "what you learned" to why this would help/benefit you as a student at NOSM and as a physician.

How bad would it be to use not being accepted to med last year as the example? and then talk about how I dealt with the failure and what I learned etc.

I wouldnt expect too many people to post their examples up here due to worries of others stealing their idea or improving an "opponent's" essay. Ive noticed this forum consists mostly of lurkers trying to extract information for their own benefit ... at anyone time you will see 2-10 people viewing various school threads but in fact very little is posted.
