Default CaRMS Stats

When will they come out? Only after R-2? Curious to see what the match results are like...

Yeah we usually have to wait a bit - it doesn't come out quickly

You will need to wait a while for the complete statistics, but you can go look at the carms website in program descriptions to get an idea of what's left in the 2nd round...

The biggest surprise to me (as someone interested in the field) is Rad Onc... 8 spots left over, of 21. A complete anomaly. Normally they fill up, or have 1/2 spots left, after the first round. Schools like Queen's and Western didn't even get a single resident (they each have 2 spots).

I guess it reflects the job market for rad onc's.

no question. people are (rightfully) terrified of training for 7 years and having no job.

I heard that 21 from McMaster went unmatched this year. If it's true...wow.

The number I received was 19, but the caveat is that we probably also set some sort of record for applicants to "non-family medicine programs" application. The numbers this year were ridiculous.

And yes 5 optholmology matches. Crazy stuff.

Number of radiation oncologists who finished training in 2009 or 2010, responded to a recent survey and have not found full-time positions: 22 out of 31

EDIT: nevermind, see dubzter's reply at http://www.premed101.com/forums/show...t=42341&page=5
