Invite for Mock MMI Interview in EDMONTON - Tuesday, Feb. 8th

Hi everyone – I would like to arrange a mini-mock MMI for those who live in EDMONTON preparing for Calgary or UBC interviews.

I’d like to run this mock interview on Tuesday, February 8th from 5:45 – 8:00PM. I am offering our townhouse as the location (South Edmonton) and my wife has agreed to be the timekeeper for all of us.

Because we have three rooms upstairs, I can only invite 5 people for this mock MMI, and with the six of us, I thought it would be best to organize the interview as follows:

One group of three will conduct three mock-interviews (8 minutes each) and will be interviewed by the second group of three (i.e., one interviewer per room). We will then rotate and do the same thing over again (interviewers will become the interviewees).

We will need six prompts and probing questions so I will print off six of the nine scenarios published by U of C. If you have already analyzed these in detail, this mock MMI might not be worth your time.

After the interview, we will conduct a debrief downstairs where each person will:

1) Review the prompt for the group where they acted as the interviewer.

2) Constructively critique the three individuals on their performance in front of the group.

3) Ask for general opinions/feedback from the group in regards to the prompt.

Each person will take 10-15 minutes to conduct their debrief - so the entire process (including interview) will take ~2 hours. My wife has generously agreed to be both a moderator and timekeeper for this entire process.

If you are interested, please PM me with your name, e-mail and phone number and I will call you today or over the weekend with details. I am open to other suggestions for the mock MMI, but I think it is best to keep this simple and straight to the point.

We will also offer some light refreshments

You should note however that I am not making this offer out of the “kindness of my heart” lol….I would also like/expect detailed and constructive feedback myself, so I am only extending this interview offer to people who are serious about MMI practice.
