Clerkship does not begin in year one...it begins in January of year 2. If you're actually wondering about clinical experience, that can start as soon or as late as you wish. Hope this helps.

Just a bit of more specific info:
Clinical clerkship actually begins in December of year 2. The "full time" or block clinical experience begins in the summer towards the end of year one. "Part time" or horizontal clinical experience can begin anytime as ITgeek said. Hope this helps.
