View Full Version : Curriculum Structure (and timelines) for Mac
Hey folks,
Just wondering, especially for those current Mac Med students out there... Could anyone give me a description of the curriculum... not necessarily of the components because those are on the site but more the timeline as to when certain modules and units start and end.
Thanks,
Cedrin

Hi Ceds!
I answered this in another thread. Here's the link: pub125.ezboard.com/fpremed101frm9.showMessage?topicID=121.topic&index=2 (http://pub125.ezboard.com/fpremed101frm9.showMessage?topicID=121.topic&index=2)
Thanks gucio93! That's what happens when you're a newbie... post something that's already been discussed. :)
Hey any Mac Med Students out there...
Just had a question about electives. What do you do for the first electives session in first year? The second elective period is obviously for clinical electives but what about the first one?
Thanks,
Ceds

Hi, I assume you're talking about the first set of "block" electives that take place in summer at the end of first year. I am in that elective block right now. All electives can be clinical. Some do reading and some do research, but I believe 50% of any given elective block must be spent in clinical activities (you would have to check with the electives office). You can split the block (8 weeks) up however you like. I am doing all 8 weeks in the same place, but I have arranged to do a variety of clinical and research activities. Some people are doing 2 4-week blocks in different places, some are doing 4 2-week blocks, etc. You will have an advisor (a faculty member) who can help you decide on and arrange the best combination of electives for you.
Hope this helps!
