Just thought I would throw this question our there:

are there any credit card perks offered by the banks for being a med student that I should try to get/ask for when applying for a LOC? if so, which bank/what card?

You will be offered at LEAST one of those cash back cards for free 5K limit. Some locations will offer the next card up as well if you ask - so ask :)

Ask them to waive the fee for the best/most expensive card they have. You should be able to get it thrown in for free... Other banks do it, why can't they?

They want your business... They should have to try to compete for it. :D
