View Full Version : Movember - Prostate Cancer Awareness
Any other PM101'ers of the male gender growing the mo' this month? I've decided to start mine today just for fun/support, and may post a pic at the end of the month depending on how it turns out :O!

A bunch of the residents in my program are growing 'staches, as are a few of our staff. We all look very sketchy.
The timing of Movember is kind of unfortunate for me, since I have just started a pediatric rotation. My 'stache is looking creepier by the day, and soon no parent in their right mind is going to let me anywhere near their child.

I've been growing since Nov 1st.
And I must say, I am not impressed with the fake Movember growers. Those are the guys that grew full on beards in October, and then shaved down to the full moustache on Nov. 1st. The magic of Movember is that men everywhere must unite to grow nasty staches from scratch. This process reaches much deeper levels than the stache, in that it represents the struggle that all men must face together to change the face of men's health.
I debate getting rid of mine every morning when I look in the mirror, but I've held strong to this point.
Heh, I am doing it as well and it is great to see all the other 'staches in the gym and around school.. I find myself seeing someone and going "man, that guys got a pretty ugly stache, what is he thinking" and then I'll remember that it is movember and I have the same thing going on. Although, to be truthful, I have a beard going as well, but I plan to shave it this weekend and go down to just the stache.
And I agree that everyone has to shave Nov 1 to make it a fair playing field

If you have a beard going on it doesn't count. I have a beard too and I truly don't consider myself part of this whole Movember rain.

Agreed. Some of us are making significant sacrifices for Movember. On Oct 31st I had a luxuriant beard, which had been established for months and was universally loved and admired. I shaved it all off and I'm now growing something that makes me look like I ought to be driving a Chevelle Super Sport down to the Emporium to try and pick up highschool girls.

LOL! Yeah I'm not so sure how big mine will get since I only started a couple of days ago but we shall see!
