Hi, everyone, I'm new to this forum, so hi :o D
I was just wondering if anyone out there has interest in the MD/MBA program at McGill. Have anyone of you guys tried to apply for that? How did it go? Any info on this program would be really great.

Hello,

Take a look at their MD/MBA website for some more information (in case you have not done so already). I am sure that McGill would be more than happy to forward you information pertaining to the program if you ask.

As far as I know, in order to gain entry to the program, you must possess the qualifications necessary to enter both programs (MD & MBA) if they were independent. You are probably already aware of the McGill MD requirements, but standard MBA program requirements are: a good GMAT score, more letters of reference, a number of years of undergraduate work, if not an undergraduate degree, and x number of years of work experience.

Good luck,
Kirsteen

Thanks Kirsteen, I didn't know any of the MBA requirements.

Hi,
I applied to that program before and got an interview with them.
No, you do NOT need a GMAT score. However, on the interview day, you will have a special interview with the director of admissions at the med school (Dr. Becker?) and a representative from the business school at the SAME time (i.e. 2 on 1). Other applicants don't get that. It was not too bad. I did not have much business background (mostly just research), so definitely that's not a requirement. However, you do need to specifically say WHY you want that degrees. I feel that a lot of applicants interviewed for MD/MBA also don't have much business background. You then need to shine through with your insights.

They accept two out-of-province students in that program every year; 5 out-of-province students every year in total (for MD, MD/PhD, MD/MBA, etc.).

Rice/Baylor MD/MBA also do not require GMAT. Not sure about the rest.
