The title of the thread says most of it. I know that one of the criteria is that you must be a med student to be a moderator. I've just been accepted, and becoming a moderator on this site is something that I'm interested in.

We do need more mods on this site. Way too many trolls lately and I feel bad reporting posts to residents who are busy with their 120-hour workweeks.

yeah, trolls have been lurking a lot lately. I wonder how one can join to become a moderator. I'm very interested

You need Ian's blessing.

Yup, you need Ian's blessing. I used to be a moderator on the old forum when it was still with ezboards (like 5-6 years ago). Ever since it got moved to this server, I lost my moderator privileges! Oh well. :)

I used to be a mod on the old server. I was more optimistic then.

Now I feel like I'm sixty years old. Residency will do that to you.

I would like to be a mod again. I think I could lend the new crop of med students a hand so they don't make the same mistakes I did.

I would like to be a moderator. I go on this forum every day, I frequently answer people's questions, I have lots of posts under my belt and I'm a medical student 2 months away from clerkship.
Also, I'm fluent in both French and English and I can help people from everywhere in Canada. I can participate in the dentistry forum since I know quite a lot about dentists and dental school.
Thank you very much; If become a mod, I can even change my signature if it is inappropriate.

Ian seems pretty busy himself - I guess radiology will do that do you :)

I suppose pretty much the last of the current mods are now going into clerkship. Hopefully we can get some new ones soon.

I hope something happens in the near future to get a few more mods put in place. Between the bot-spamming and borderline racist threads that have popped up in the last few months it is very discouraging to see.

I've been thinking the same thing for a while--particularly in light of recent events.
