From OMSAS:
Thursday, October 1, 2009
All transcripts and academic documents must be received at OMSAS by this date. Applicants should note that this is a strict deadline. All Confidential Assessment Forms should also be received by this date. Please note: Although failure to meet this deadline does not invalidate an application, it may mean that the application will be sent to the medical schools without these forms and may delay the progress of their first evaluation.

For applicants to Ottawa, Queen’s or Toronto, Confidential Assessment Forms and supporting letters must be received at OMSAS by this date. Failure to do so will mean that the application will not be considered.
From my experience:
I think you'll be fine if it is a couple days late for Western (I've heard from many people that it is okay, even OMSAS last year when I called them to ask ... it takes time for OMSAS to fax all the CAF's and References to the universities, so a couple days late is okay -- that is what they told me more or less when I asked last year and one of my references wasn't recieved).
And from last year, it takes time for OMSAS to update their system and display whether they recieved the references online. So even if it is on time, it may not even be updated by Oct 1. So no need to stress unless it is majorly late.

BTW, how come it is coming in late?
