Med 3 and 4 stipend

Tried to look everywhere for an answer, haven't found one yet.

Do 3rd year med students get a stipend in ontario? I already know that 4yrs get $750/month during their rotations. I'm just not sure if the same applies to 3rd years.

Hi there,

At my medical school, we received payment from the OMA in our final year, but not in our clerkship year. I imagine it works this way at the other Ontario medical schools as well.

No, the provision is only for students in Ontario studying in their FINAL year to receive the $750 monthly stipend.

NOSM students received a third year stipend because of the requirement to be aware for 8 months, and no other coverage for living allowances offered.

you get a set amount depending on how many weeks you are away. it no where near covers the actual cost. it's basically divided into <12 or >12 weeks. whether you're gone 12 weeks or 22 weeks, you get the same amount.
