Hey guys, sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched and couldn't find any.

I have two questions actually.

1) where could one find the list of professors that got their NSERC research grant for this year (2009)? I searched the NSERC website but couldn't find any listings. Since one need a supervisor that have received a NSERC research grant for the NSERC-USRA program, it is kind of important to know, I think.

2)Once you found a professor that has the research grant, do you just email the prof and ask something like "hey prof, I see you have a research grant from NSERC, you are doing <xxx>, which I am interested in, mind if I join you?" Well, I suppose it would be a bit more formal than that, but is that basically what you should be asking?

Thanks!

1) You need to use your school's departmental website, not NSERC website. On the website, you should be able to access profiles of profs in the department. The profile will usually contain info on whether the prof has grant or not.

2) Yes.
