Hello :)
First off, please take this as a grain of salt and I'm sure more knowledgeable posters can make a greater contribution than me.
Have you thought about U.S. schools? or Caribbean schools?
For Canadian schools, I think your closest bet would be McMaster and UoT. I have heard that UoT actually looks at the whole application package of graduate students. Your UoT GPA is 3.58, which is good enough that if your rest of application is good -which I would say it is - would invite you for an interview. UoT GPA for grad school is anything above a 3.0 (I believe). So think about applying there along with McMaster.
I hope things work out for you! Best wishes!
Hello eng_dude
thanks so much for the reply and the words of motivation. I will be applying to Mac and UofT this year. I have been seriously considering the states, but after crunching through some of the preliminary numbers, I'm not sure the cost will be worth it. At the minimum, I will graduate from a US school with $240K in debt. On top of this will be my payments, and given the fact that many schools require up-front payment, this debt-load could easily sky rocket to $300K before I've even started residency. Graduating with that kind of debt will severely impact on not only my goals of having a financially secure household for a family, but also my plans to practice international medicine (DwB).
It's not something I want to take lightly. I'd be giving up a huge part of why I want to go into medicine and I'm not sure the pros outweigh the cons in that situation.
I think if Canada doesn't work out, and I don't get into any of the lower-tuition schools in the States (Vermont comes to mind), I may have to seriously consider my options in consulting (which appeal to me quite a bit actually).
Does anyone have any opinions on that? Am I way off in left-field by stating what I have above? Any other comments on my chances for the future?

Rewrite MCAT, then you can add Queen's in the list.
I think Ottawa may be out because I got <85% in one of my grad courses. Ottawa says specifically on their web site that every grad course must be >85%.
I'm hoping that I'll get an app read for mac at least. I think my best bet may be UofT.
As for Queen's, I'm hoping the writing sample drops in the reqs. I'm also hoping for a boost through a remark (think I def deserved at least a Q).
Do you think it's too late for AMCAS? I'll be submitting the app at the end of this week. Aiming at mostly the lower-mid tier schools (Vermont, SUNY, Rosalind, etc).

UofT may be difficult with less than a 3.6.
It is getting very late for AMCAS. If you submit next week, you likely wont have your secondaries completed and/or reviewed until November...which is really pushing it...
