Hi,

I am not sure which med schools to apply to this year. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice on which schools I should apply to. I am in my 3rd year of biological sciences at U of A.

I just got my MCAT score, which is:
PS:14, VR:10, WS:O, BS:13 Total: 37O

My GPA is solid, at U of A its a 4.0, but according to OMSAS, its like 3.94.

I have typical extracurriculars - hospital volunteer, exec member of club, nursing home volunteer, 2 summers of research experience.

I won't apply to Queen's because of my WS and not UWO, I have already applied to UBC. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

What about places that don't consider MCAT such as McMaster, NOSM, and Ottawa? Also you may do well at UofT due to your high GPA and because I think they only need an N or something in the MCAT WS.

Dal would certainly be worthwhile.

If I were you (what I think you're very competitive for, not necessarily where you want to be):

UBC, U of A, U of C, U of S, U of M, U of T

Basically you stand a decent chance (assuming your EC's are fine) at anywhere without strict MCAT cutoffs, where you won't get an interview.

Thanks for the replies.

I won't apply to U of M, Dal or NOSM because I am pretty sure you need a degree for those schools but I'll apply to U of S, Mcmaster and Ottawa.

you need a degree for UofM but it doesn't need to be a 4-year degree. If your school offers a 3-year BSc then you can apply to UofM.

UofT doesn't take alot of people without degrees from what I am told.
