I'm completely blanking out on what movie I can show some friends during our medical movie night. We've seen Sicko and John Q - what suggestions do you have?
hmm how about kill bill, and the sexy whistling nurse!! ;)

Oh god the music and that wierd siren zoom-in-zoom-out thing they did at so many of the fight seens gave me a headache.
I enjoyed John Q. How was sicko? I was skeptical about watching it because of who it was produced by.

Thanks guys - these are awesome!
I've seen Barbarian Invasions plougboy (on Nisker's recommendation). I liked it and would recommend it. It's a bit slow, but good, and Canadian :)

Would highly recommend Wit to anyone who hasn't seen it. Great overview of a highly touted professor's struggle with cancer as she moves through the health care system. Also consider Lorenzo's Oil.

That doc was tight =)
One of my favorite MD, Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive...

The Doctor (with William Hurt), and I second tonesrn's recommendation of Wit. You see very quickly what kind of doctor people want for themselves and as future physicians, how you DON'T want to act.

Seconded. It was quite funny for an obscure little film.

I found this thread when I was searching for some films to pump me up for my interview on the weekend. I was going to watch Patch Adams and this The Doctor movie looks pretty good. I can add one to the list:
The Motorcycle Diaries
It's about Che Guevara and how he traveled across South America at the end of med school to do his residency in a leprosy town... It's hints at what he does later in life, but is more of an adventure movie with a lot of medical undertone. I really liked it.

Seducing Dr. Lewis (http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/289047/Seducing-Doctor-Lewis/overview) (Canadian too)it also addresses the issue of serving in underserved communities :p

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, currently out in theatres, is a wonderful movie. It is about a former Elle editor, who suffered a stroke and was only able to move his left eye and communicated through blinking. A true story. Highly recommended.

I just finished watching the movie "Awake", starring Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba and was very suprised. It was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time!:)

Harold and Kumar.
Alright, it's not medical-themed, but Kumar is probably the coolest pre-med ever. And there's also Doogie Howser in the movie, dude!
