Hey there,

Have the moderator only threads been activated yet? It seems it's been awfully quiet for the last while.

How is everyone doing with their LMCC II studying? Personally, i'm in denial that's it's on Saturday!

Good luck all,

Katie

Are the old moderators going to be invited to be moderators here? I see some have, but not others.

I am a moderator only by name... I can't seem to do anything special. ;)

Had some problems posting messages with my old username, never received the activation email.... so now under my new graduated nomenclature, Medicator007 is Dr Medicator :D .....

Hope all is going well!

Hey medicator,

Nice of you to show up! Hope that your new program hasn't been too busy!
BTW, the forums have been down pretty much the whole time this site has been up and running, so you haven't missed much of anything.
Anyway, back to seeing old, dizzy people (I'm on IM outpatient clinics right now- where's that oh-so-good inhaled volatile fix when you need it??? Snore...).

Heya Timmy,

Yeah things have been pretty hectic, but tolerable.

Old dizzy people eh? What about the poorly controlled (DM2, HTN, CHF) or prescription renewals or "we don't wanna deal with them so you see them" or "can't find anyone to follow this patient, so you win" ambulatory visits? Or is that just my clinic?

Cheers,
Medicator

Hey guys,

How do we re-obtain our moderator status from the old site to the new site?

Cheers,
Karen (aka wassabi)

The moderator threads are pretty much dead right now. Ian seems to be missing in action, and he's the only one who can give new people moderator status.

I also lost my moderator status snif. LoL :)

Hey,

Likewise. I figured that it was because I did something and was happy to be a political prisoner, but now it's not so fun.

Me, busted down to Junior Member? =(

Long time... Med school (and premed) seem so far away... We had time to chat on message boards back then?!

Hope the MCCQE2 went good for everyone.

I guess people graduated and moved on. But the move to the vBulletin board really seemed to kill the chat and sense of community the old forums had. Oh well.

Hope everybody is well :)

Marble, I hope you`re doing well as well.
I seldom check these boards now - perhaps because i don't have as much input into the whole medical admission as I used to - ha, sounds so far away since I was applying to med school :)

Hey Marble, how's life treating you? If I'm a clerk you must be what, PGY-3? Psyche, or am I thinking of somebody else?

It scares me to think how quickly time goes by -- and how many years I've spent hanging around these boards. I guess that makes me a relatively old-timer.

Agree that it's just not the same, somehow. Don't know if it's the move to vBulletin or just me getting old. I don't post nearly as much any more. There are only so many times you can respond to "is my GPA good enough?". ;)

Take care, all

Hey Marble! Long time no see! How is residency treating you? Maybe if we all lobby Ian enough he'll open up the mod boards again...

Moderators do NOT have the right to prohibit individuals from expressing their opinions. As a citizen, this is MY right and you do not have the authority to prohibit this, given that this right did not infringe upon the rights of other students on this forum. I would like to know why it is that my posts regarding graduate students support group were deleted.

Answers:
Wow, it was highly unnecessary to post this in every single forum.

I've deleted all the duplicate threads, and kept one here in the general discussion forum. Please don't post the same thing over and over again; your posts will be removed.

Addendum:
Actually, moderators have a right to moderate this forum as they see reasonable. Private forums do not fall under free speech laws, so no, you don't have a right to do anything you wish. In addition, if you find their actions unreasonable, you can always go to another forum or start your own.

(Yeah yeah I know I'm just feeding the troll... )

Aw CutieYellow, pb, and peachy...so glad to hear from you guys :)

I don't check here very often either I must admit...maybe once every few months looking for familiar names on the forums. Of which I don't see many anymore I have to say lol I even forgot I posted in this forum to be honest. But I was bored today and cruising websites at random.

pb I am currently a PGY-2 in psychiatry...good memory :) My PGY-1 was rough and had me questioning my career choice--not just of pyschiatry but of medicine in general. But I got through it and year 2 has gone much, much more better. No more medicine rotations ever!

Would be awesome if the moderator forums could be open again--or even just a forum for the old gang to stay in touch.

Well anyways, stay well guys and best wishes for everybody's future

Thanks orange123, that's very sweet of you! :) I've probably logged on here thousands of times since, but that just speaks to the quality of the members and discussions, since I still find it worthwhile.
