Discrepancy in gender

Why is there such a MASSIVE discrepancy in gender for the 2003 and 2004 classes at Mac (linked are on Ian's website, under "med schools")? It's like 30% male and 70% female. I thought that it was general policy for med schools to keep the male:female ratio about 1:1 each year. Why is it so different at Mac?

I can't say for sure about what the policy is at other schools, however, it would be illogical to have such a policy at Mac as there is usually around a 70:30 ratio of applicants. Thus, the actual med student class ratio parrallels this trend (I don't think this is done on purpose. It just seems to work out this way.
