Commuting from Calgary SW?

How bad is the rush hour in Calgary? If anyone has lived in Vancouver, how do the two compare?

If you live in Surrey (everyone in Canada knows about Surrey...<grin>... it takes about an hour or more, but closer suburbs like Richmond, Burnaby, and the North Shore are 30-40 minutes (each way).

What about Minnapore (SE or SW, can't remember) to U of C?
