Hi sassafras, Interesting background indeed!

I was wondering what kind of employment you engaged in during your working days that allowed you the freedom to travel, buy your dream house, and now fund your medical education.

I also took a "different" route to med school, however mine was one that was certainly not paved with gold (I completed my Phd). Sometimes I regret not using some of those years to work at a job which would allow me to obtain some more assets but instead this vetran student will be looking into lines of credits for med school :)

<pagetext>With that other thread going about maturity, too young for meds, etc., does anyone feel nervous about going into meds next month? It finally hit me that I am really going ahead to do this. Although I am not young as 19, I'm not old as 30 either. I'm somewhere in the middle. And yes, I feel like I haven't done enough of other things to give me adequate life experience, but at the same time I'm at the point in my life where I should start my career and think about things like planning for a family, financial future, and making something out of myself. Is anyone else having a nervous feeling as I do?
